Maybe we should grant asylum to all queers, everywhere, sort of set a quite high liberal standard, raise the bar, so to speak.
Personally, I think we should open the floodgates to so called reformed cannibals from South Africa and elsewhere, say General Butt Naked, (there are a lot of em baby), persecuted minorities needing shelter, crying 'gimme shelter' !
We might cut a deal with, say, the Rooskies, one sad melting pot to another..., say they agree to take so many cannibals, lgbts, criminals, and we pay them a token one time amount... This is the kind of deal Trump might be good at making!
