The best interpretation seems to be that what is lately and now called only white racism in the United States always existed among highly organized societies of whatever color or creed.
That seems to me to be quite obvious, but you will find American blacks, and all whites on both sides, both color blind liberals and white racists as well, vigorously disputing such a thing, tooth and nail, claiming that the verdict of history is on their side, that racism is both fairly recent and mainly only white on black, and that their side should win.
