FAKE NEWS IS PREDICATED IN PART ON FAKE HISTORIES

Fake histories often go back centuries... long story; not just about the discipline of history, but about the history of philosophy and of politics as well.

 

I call fake histories Whig fallacies, a non partisan term, in my usage, of opprobrium for whatever brand of fake history, from either end, or from the middle, of the political spectrum,  is under discussion.

In a larger sense, fake histories make fake news itself, of whatever variety, possible, rather than the other way around.
