RE CIVILIZATION AND TOLERATION REFORMATION ENLIGHTENMENT

They were not part of what was at first known, during the Wars of Religion, as people for whom toleration was deemed appropriate, put it that way.

They were not even part, for obvious reasons, of what later was known as the liberal Enlightenment notion of tolerance, incorporated into founding father documents here, etc.
