So, who are Bannon's real Republicans? He wants you all to think they are conservative Christians. That's because conservative Jews here need mostly Christian stooges, not Jews, because there are a whole lot more Christian stooges than there are conservative Jews. Numbers matter.
But who are his real republicans, really?
Conservative Jews.
As DK pointed out, the origins of the neocon movement itself were conservative Jews, disappointed about what might happen to Israel. They needed Christian stooges in great numbers, from the beginning, to accomplish anything.
See his post of Jan 5, 2008. Of course, he doesn't characterize conservative Christians as stooges, but his assessment of their role in neoconservatism comes to the same thing.
As Hannah Arendt pointed out in The Origins of Totalitarianism, there are vastly different levels, and even types I would say, of understanding, in political movements.
Following Arendt, there was and is even a hierarchy among stooges; stooges of stooges, so to speak as shown below.
