As Krugman points out, Trump is saying that to folks in Osley County, Kentucky, 86% on food stamps, more than half the residents voted for him. Kennedy Fallacy there, Baby!
Trump had campaigned on getting them jobs, not taking them off food stamps. Or did he campaign on getting rid of food stamps too? Maybe. Well, he is getting rid of food stamps with no jobs!
The Democratic globalist oriented Gates Foundation, on the other hand, mostly transfers wealth to poor people elsewhere, not here:
"In developing countries, we focus on improving people’s health and wellbeing, helping individuals lift themselves out of hunger and extreme poverty. In the United States, we seek to ensure that all people—especially those with the fewest resources—can access the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life." I don't know much about what Gates does here, but it is mainly global, baby!
