ROOSEVELT JOHNSON FDR'S POST COLONIAL LIBERALISM

In many ways, General Butt Naked represents the triumph of FDR's post colonial liberalism, in Africa, and to some extent, in the rest if the world.

 

The General knows that remaining a cannibal is somehow bad, and it has been explained to him, but he doesn't know exactly why or how it is so bad, that he can't indulge in it occasionally, here and there, when the circumstances warrant it. It is still part of his ancient religion, after all.

Let's call it, for lack of a better term, liberal cannibalism, or even limited cannibalism? Cannibalism with modern restraint.
