RE MICHAEL LEWIS AND THE MORAL CRITIQUE OF OUR INSTITUTIONS

I want to talk about this theme at greater length tomorrow.

He has written books on this theme regarding Wall Street.

One can make similar remarks regarding our legal systems, and about systems of regulation, and lack of regulation, in various fields across the spectrum of human endeavor.

I discussed the topic when I published and lectured, some years ago, regarding trial practice, statutes of procedure, and rules of procedure and evidence. Terms search: Team Play.

Analogous problems exist in many fields, not just those in stock and bond market areas which he recounts, or law.

As he points out, especially in the 2014 Aspen talk, the insiders in such situations have an interest in not bringing problems such as these to anyone in government, or to journalists' attention, or to write books or manuals about solving the problems, but rather in taking advantage of the problems for personal and or corporate advantage.
