Nice contrast between Europe and here.
Krugman is a whipping boy for me. I praise him sometimes, and abuse him as just another economist most other times.
I should mention that a Clinton Administration would also have betrayed her constituencies just as shamelessly, it just would not have been so glaring, and she would not think of going after disappointed constituents criminally. Trump may actually do that.
So, call it, say, America's Rock and Roll Politics.
Since the 50s it has not gotten the working class here anywhere, and then also began to eat into the middle class heavily.

Why not also whip Krugman, while I am on the subject he raises?
Why are Europe and the US now, for so long, decades, endlessly really, in the prosperity doldrums he bemoans in his article yesterday, and which European rightists are only trying desperately, and better than here, to somewhat alleviate?

They are there largely because of the advice of their economists, especially since Adam Smith, The Wealth Of Nations frankly still remains the bible for them. There has been nothing better than globalization for economic theories, since the beginning of the 19th Century.
England went over to free trade early in the 19th Century. It ended up paying the price, especially when combined with liberalism, which went along with free trade as a corollary.
