I once did a video depo, in a hospital room.
Not voluntarily. My client, a fellow Haitian, had shot and paralyzed the Haitian hospital patient.
The government wanted to perpetuate his testimony, not me.
I would have been well satisfied with a self defense, which it was I believe, without this pathetic scene in evidence. I would have much preferred he had died without perpetuation of testimony.
The cross examination of a dying criminal, speaking gasping agonized broken Haitian English, is not something you would want to do.
Very early version of a video depo, hospital room.
