IN SOME WAYS WWII WAS LIKE VIETNAM

The big difference is that in WWII, we falsely claimed the Russians' victory as ours.

In both, big picture, we lost. 

The Cong tool over South Vietnam. 

The Russians took over Europe more or less. 

You can candycoat it. We demobilized. The Russians did not.

They permanently occupied Eastern Europe, just like the Cong occupied South Vietnam. We had pledged to defend them, Europe,  if we could. We did not.

Who really controlled Europe?

The Russians.
