for the billions now being rendered economically obsolete?
Capitalism leads to three things, not just one, inequality.
1. Capitalism leads to equality, that is income convergence, at least for those who are employed.
2. It leads to inequality, between most people on the one hand, whose income is converging, and the top .1% on the other whose income is rising.
3. And it leads to obsolescence of an enormous number whose income is failing to converge upward toward a global median or average income.

Half of the American work force is really now becoming obsolete based on its price in a globally converging market for it.
Billions in the poorer parts of the world are already, or are becoming, obsolete, for other reasons, but still, trust me, obsolete.
Who cares about democracy, when you are obsolete?
What is slavery, compared to obsolescence.
At least American negro slaves had masters who generally could afford them.
Many, billions, of people now are less well off than slaves who were provided for.
