LIBERACE AND THE SUDDEN CRISIS OF CORPORATE GIGANTISM NOT GLOBALISM
Corporate giants are now suddenly hurting the so called economy. One doesn't know which economy Liberace means. If he meant the global economy, it would be hard to claim, and Krugman would call him out on this, that corporate gigantism has been hurting the global economy. In fact, Krugman would doubtless claim that the contrary has been true instead. Liberace points out, now, 30 or so years later, that Reagan had stopped data on industry market share. Maybe the NYT called them out on that at that time, maybe not.
Liberace now claims that that is one reason the country, and by implication, as far as I am concerned, the media, has turned a blind eye.
What are the other reasons. He just mentions one.....

Well then, what was the role of a free press here in the first place, back in the mid 80s?

I am sure this is hardly a new idea, but why not air it anyway?
So how do you do it?
You cut pieces of raw smoked bacon and slide a few, so that they will fit flat and comfortably (don't overload) under and within the perimeters of the chicken skin of the pieces or the whole bird, depending on what you are cooking.
For a chicken thigh or a breast, you only need one good size square or rectantular piece per chicken piece.
For a whole chicken, slide from the loose skin where the neck was removed, and slide a larger piece along each breast.
You could put a small sprig of rosemary under there too if so desired. Another variation would be to dredge the raw bacon in some herbs of your choice prior to larding. That would be a nice touch.

Commenting on another blog post, he (Krugman) poo poos the notion of the big corporation as bad actor,
fails to impugn the political system, and the bi-partisan understanding, that allowed these very powerful entities to overgrow,
and blames individual bad actors at the tops of the ones most visibly acting bad.
This is not a very helpful image, and wildly distorts what has been going on to drive globalism blobalism in such an unhelpful direction and extent.
Not that corporations themselves initiated the process of accruing too much reach and power, blobalizing everywhere, or are intrinsically bad,
but now that they're there, not very helpful to blame only certain allegedly bad imperial corporate controlling individuals (even if themselves bloblike) manipulating otherwise benevolent MNCS.
The Republicans permanently abandoned the domestic economy, as even someone like Buchanan pointed out in The Great Betrayal, when MNCs, and foreign interests, not imperial American individuals, became so influential in the 70s that there was no going back.
Buchanan's Chapter "Companies Without A Country", contains some passages, which could be multiplied many times in the literature, showing that it is not individual imperial 'bad actors', but the MNC phenomenon itself, which has been allowed to swell and take over politics.
One can find similar history in Prestowitz, Chalmers Johnson, Alfred Eckes, Jr., Gilpin, Gill, Reich, Greider, Batra, and others.
Of course, if you work for a MNC that has a subsidiary corporation that sells newspapers, it's hard to impugn the entity that pays your salary.............
Or, if you are a politician, like say Buchanan, not very popular to attack the corporate powers that be, imperial or not.

He claims to be an economic nationalist, and a populist.
I am an unapologetic Western Civilization imperialist, a British royalist, and a mercantilist, frankly, a term he tags China with, but hey, that nowadays is rather good company! It is a rather old fashioned notion, or group of notions. I didn't come to this idea overnight, or over a week, month, year, or decade, but over the past 40 or so years.

But it really is ultimately a loser ideology, big picture, and race plays a crucial role in civilizational rivalries which cannot and should not be ignored but rather highlighted, not merely for so called racist purposes but for civilizational survival.
