You can't do anything about, really.
You can kid yourself.
What Trump is doing is serious, but ultimately, a bad joke.
The Asians have been laughing at us for decades now, starting with the Japanese: 
'Oh, American San, we are happy to provide you military bases here to protect us, while we suck out your domestic economy.'
Byword.
