You may wonder (but frankly, you probably don't, and even have never even thought about this, in your dumb liberal or conservative life) why very knowledgeable economists liberals, Piketty, Krugman, Rodrik, etc etc, or even conservative economists, haven't weighed in much on this issue, ever.
