Zervos: He lied when he said she was a liar.....
Defamation: a false statement harming reputation.
The Hollywood Hotel...
Mueller Trump statement under oath:
M: Did you call her a liar at, time, place?
T: Yes.
M: Was she a liar?
T: Yes.
M: Do you recall denying that she was a liar at another, time, place? (Recorded but not under oath at that other time place.)
T: Yes.
M: Was she a liar when you first called her a liar, or not?
T: No.
M: When you later denied she was a liar, were you then telling the truth, or not?
T: Yes.
Can someone who lies inconsistently at different times about whether someone else was a liar be said to have made a false statement at any one particular point?
Can he defend against libel in this way, by recanting, even if he is now lying, doesn't mean it, and it is false in fact?
