PENTAGON PAPERS WATERGATE

Apparently Ellsberg's blundering whistleblowing triggered excess fallout when Wategate then hit.

 

So, a Democrat, ratting out Democrats, queered a later Republican Administration.

 

I think Professor Kaiser pointed out that the Republicans in Congress later impeached Clinton as revenge for Nixon.

 

That sounds about right.

 

Anyone who thinks that ratting out any adnimistration to Congress, but especially also to the American people through the media, would change anything fundamentally as a permanent improvement of governance, is a little naive to say the least. I am including in this group Snowden no less than Ellsberg. Ellsberg got over 100 years in prison.

 

Later, he just got real lucky. Now he is remembered as a hero. He should probably have been considered a traitor, or at least a dupe, regardless of the merits of his disclosures.

Ellsberg accidentally helped queer Nixon's Presidency, in some ways similarly to the Clinton Campaign intentionally queering Trump's.
