Just restrict gunownership, and you will have a happy healthy society...
Too widespread gun ownership is bad, but other deeper more important reasons lie behind problems of so called gun violence here.

No one is prepared to address virtually any of those here, because they lie at the heart of an overly open, anarchic, and liberal society, which has evolved, or better, morphed, over a very long period of time, where now few checks are easily placed on all manner of behaviors, not just gun violence, known to be aberrant, other than the classic check of crude blunt criminalization.
Marginalized people, and we are a society composed mostly now, here, at the end, of all those marginalized in various diverse ways, are not a useful social framework to try to get gun violence, or anything else, better under control.
Call it anarchic unravelling.
