LINCOLN TRUMP AND THE NATION STATE

People are terrified that Trump is really a fascist, supposedly our first...

The argument has been made, by very reputable people, that Lincoln's Union was the first modern nation state, whereas the Confederacy was one of the last state nations, in Bobbitt's wonkish terminology, and also, and most importantly, the first state of terror, once again according to Bobbitt.

 

Carrying Bobbitt and others' arguments further, I think the argument could, and  should, even be made, for various reasons not the least of which would be to counter a lot of nonsensical hero worship, that Lincoln was the first fascist leader, although maybe this is a bit of a stretch, even for me.
