This seems the most popular kind of post lately.
How about let's talk doing a "Poor Man's Delmonico Gizzard Wellington"!
The recipe, or indication, of the classic variation, for two, maybe too much to swallow doing.
How about simply briefly char broil a raw burger, then enrobe and insert it in some reduced pan gravy (including poultry gizzard or liver organs, or not), all within a brioche roll sliced into on one edge, or even a folded (!) buttered (and/or bacon fatted) steel skewer pinned closed pita pocket!
You then bake this little jewel in a hot oven for 10 minutes, not charring the outer bread layer too much. Extra gravy on the side, with say Greek roast potatoes. Salad, green.
Not retsina to drink.
This is all, in a sense, variations on what is known in modern times in the British isles and dominions, as steak and kidney pie.
