See the article, in the NYT, of all places, July 4, 2016, Robert Parkinson.

Why the Narrative Goals of the 1619 Project Matter, NR article:
This thing is useful for reference. It places the NYT project in a box, and approaches much of what it describes in somewhat false boxes, the 5 narratives. The Lincoln narrative we have been given is sadly bereft of so much equivocation and racism by Lincoln and moderate Republicans. The Lost cause one is also a crippled account. All of them are falsified accounts, either by their proponents, advocates, or critics like this author.
The fact that the NYT has turned this Project into school curriculum is even more alarming than the NR's critique of it.
