RE THOUGHTS ON THE VIRUS AND WHERE IT HAS SPREAD

An interesting aspect of air travel, seldom covered, is that some passengers sometimes tried to wear masks, to protect themselves from the dangerous cabin air, before COVID 19, or even to protect others if they had a highly infectious respiratory disease, like tuberculosis, which some air travellers had.

I met a fellow student at BU. He wore a mask to class, not to protect him. He had the disease. One quarter of the world population has latent tuberculosis.

These people were sometimes ostracized, admonished, asked or forced to deplane, because of fears or concerns of terrorism, or airline concerns about fellow passenger conflicts, or both, as well as other concerns.
