I would just point out that liberal free speech and press organs like the NYT have made this very Left Postmodern state of affairs possible, and to make it seem desirable, in the first place.
Now they are backing away from the Left Postmodern Frenkenstein Monster they themselves created in the first place.
They have always been in a position, in terms of knowledge and power, not only to know better, but as Leonhardt likes to say: They can do better. It has always been bullshit.
Do other better governed countries just have better journalists?
