It nationalized (and globalized) and standardized string classical music pedagogy.
This is something that one can criticize.
It is a least common denominator system. It lacks variety, and many other things.
But in a country where there is little standardization worth having and no uniformity in general, and quality is at an understandably amateur hobbyist humanities enrichment level, this is an example of a nation wide teaching and accomplishment standard.
