Hassett would not be my bedtime reading but let's take a look at his CV:
most recently: State Farm James Q. Wilson Chair in American Politics and Culture and Director of Research for Domestic Policy at AEI.
He was McCain's chief advisor.
He had been an advisor to G. W Bush and Romney.
He was a policy consultant to Treasury under GHW Bush and Clinton.
He was an economist for the Fed.
he has taught a lot at Columbia.
He was confirmed as Chief of C. of E. Advisors by a senate vote of 81-16.
If he is a moron, which, I fully agree with Krugman, he certainly is, he has an immaculate economics pedigree, but then, so many economists do, don't they!
Re Hannity, I agree with Krugman, again, moron.
One doesn't have to peruse his CV to see this: It is apparent on his face. It is readily apparent. He also often acts like an idiot, not merely a moron.
See especially Sean Hannity, Wikipedia: early life and education. See his parents' jobs. See especially education......
The luck of the Irish.
I see why Krugman lumped Hassett and Hannity together!
Neither of them has a reputation to lose!
I certainly agree with that!
Hannity never graduated from college!
Hassett is a well respected economist!
