What Trump has been doing re N Korea is neither.
It defies easy description.
Maybe it is half pirouette, half pivot.
It is certainly something out of Commedia del Arte, and not a higher form.
It is not pretty. Repugnant to watch, really.
The Nixon Shock, to which DK disparagingly referred recently too, was not pretty, either, but pivots are not things of beauty.
It was not a pirouette, as much as the likes of Kissinger might have considered it so, in their imaginations, at the time.
