Ferguson's mini 'chapters', almost like a historian's version of Wittgenstein's numbered entries in Philosophical Investigations, and in his other published typescripts.
Ferguson's vignettes of history. They have the one, slender, advantage, based on the nature of the subject matter, over Wittgenstein's: the account, if one can even call it that, seems to be somewhat chronological.
