WHY DID SOME EARLY HUMAN GROUPS SURVIVE?

Because they took land from, killed, and ate, or enslaved, other early humans and prehumans, when they needed to.

Early human dialogue, between mouthfuls of killed Neanderthals:

Ugga.
Uggabugga.

(Untranslatable.)

Whig Interpretation:
Here's the salt.
Very kind of you, old boy.

One of the last known Neanderthal sites, in Southern Spain overlooking the Mediterranean, their remains showed that they had been eaten, and not by animals.

Apparently there is plenty of evidence of interspecies conflict, with modern humans having weapons the Neanderthals did not. There were also physical differences, although they interbred to some extent....

How does that square with Enlightenment ideas? Not well.
Christianity or Judaism? Not good.
