This is of course much bigger than the Middle East, but the Middle East has been the sideshow among the liberals.
Our policies toward China and Japan since the 19th Century have been disastrous.
We should have smelled the coffee when Japan suddenly industrialized, then defeated Russia in 1905.
The Taiwan card...what do you think that means, when China intends to take over the Pacific (and the world) anyway? So Trump plays ' the Taiwan card ', thinking to get something permanent and tangible for it. Forget about it. It is appeasement all over again.
Rather like NAFTA, give them a permanent trade advantage and the immigrants will somehow stop coming over here.
