Bad idea.
Allowing Russia to even develop a nuclear capability, in the first place, 1949, a catastrophic blunder.
Our blunder, no one else's.
Why?
Because we were in a position to know that the technology had been stolen.
We had the power, on the ground, in Europe, 1945, to prevent its development in Russia.
