Gandhi's glasses left in letterbox sell for £260k

The glasses had been worn by Gandhi on a trip to South Africa

The Indian civil rights leader was known for giving his possessions away, said the auctioneer who sold them

These are not the same glasses, although the same general kind.

Take a close look at the nose loop on each. The one Gandhi is wearing is flattened around the front of the nose. The sold one is flattened in an arc along the plane of the lenses, not flattened around the nose angle at all.

I have a pair or two that look like this, in a drawer!
