THE PIG'S BREAKFAST PROJECT
IF I LIVE LONG ENOUGH
I am just going to go through his three volumes, only here and there, applaud, laugh, remonstrate, cry, attack, ignore, and fifty other responses.
Sowell is not simply an American neocon economist as DK seems, from a couple of comments, to think. Lot of other things going on.
His hero, or one of them, is Braudel, the most famous 20th C big picture French annalist historian. Not a leftist as such, not a rightist either. Multidisciplinarian, anti Whig, unapologetic about social science distinctions of race, culture, advantage.
Not someone to be lumped in either with someone like Ayn Rand, as DK seems to have thought, or merely with the Chicago School of economists.
So much genetic material has come out, or has been predicted to emerge, that it seems to me to make sense to lump Sowell's insights into that emerging picture of civilizations, races, ethnicities, stereotypes, and history.
Think of it as an extension of discussions here re Nicholas Wade, David Reich, paleogenetics, etc.
Sowell's material certainly makes a A PIG'S BREAKFAST out of such nonsense as The NYT 1619 Project.
