It seems, from his own account, that something similar, maybe on a less rigorous scale, happened with the peopling of the Americas after 20,000 years ago.
What other analogies are there?
He describes a branching process, down from the Bering Straits, a couple of migrations, all southward.
He does discuss a backflow into Eurasia at some point, but it is generally branching and endogamy in the Americas it seems.
The analogies to India are stark.
