Or, is he for it domestically, but against globally, or some mix, based on a wonkish model?
Is Brooks against all tipping everywhere?
Does tipping increase or decrease inequality? This is a question for Piketty, not Krugman, so much.
Is it all master slave, Hegel, Marx, and Sartre?
Brooks has now queered everyone's enjoyment of going out to eat, or of working in a restaurant, bar, uber, lyft, parlor, salon, or whatever.
He is a man who knows too much.
Would you tip for something like this?
It's like Drew Pearson, or the Kitty Genovese NYT damnation of all of society, or like his Bobos in paradise, a bad joke on everyone.
Brooks needs a new universalist home where they don't tip. He can take Joshua Bell with him, trust me. I can think of several candidates.
