STALIN'S SECRET AGENTS THREE WHO SAVED A REVOLUTION

Walter Duranty, NYT Moscow correspondent from 1921, the most important according to Romerstein, very influential communist NYT journalist, slanting all Soviet stories in favor of them.

Take especially the murder by starvation of the millions of farmers under collectivisation. "You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs." Duranty made it seem like it almost didn't happen. It wasn't intentional starvation, it was bad food shortage causing death.
