When your society's so called economy, so called industrial economy, is in the total irretrievable shit can, and has been heading that way for a very very long time, for your whole goddamned economics career, really, what the hell do you say?
You can say shit like free riders, imperfect competition, asymmetries, externalities, extraneous variables. protectionism, dictators, barriers, dumping, tariffs, intellectual property theft, product and process theft, technology transfer, state and defense department trade concessions, licensing technologies, subsidies, sanctions, etc., to rationalize your own situation you created.
You will say anything but the truth.
