Although it wants to, very badly.
They have legislated away the traditional orders of society.
They have gotten rid of the old nobility and aristocracy mostly.
They have jettisoned most monarchies and all Western empires.
They have gotten rid of class distinctions, although those are 19th Century concepts, and do not equate to the social structures of the old European Order which had preceeded them, at all.
They have gotten rid of religion, by and large, separating church from state, and withering away, confusing, and cross civilizationalizing religions.
There is nothing much, culturally, left to get rid of, baby!
Yet Judaism, itself, is today claimed, oddly, in the NYT, of all liberal bastions of Judaism, to now be a distinctively American religion (whereas other religions, presumably, are not distinctively American at all, frankly, and in spite of the fact that the church state separation seems to stand against a distinctively American religion of any kind whatever).
What cannot be gotten rid of so easily is facial and body characteristics, skin color, hair color and characteristics, stature, build, differential resistance to environmental factors, heat cold, etc.
They are civilizational, more than merely racial, characteristics, and have to do with a very verey long geographic heritage as well as cultural history.
Try legislating them away.
These are things one cannot legislate away.
The concept of anti discrimination, itself, trades specifically on these inherent distinctions and others, and is based on them as bedrock concepts, and as immutable facts.
