Nonsense, too many reasons to go into. Coolie indentured labor, starting in California, was a serious threat, both to free labor, and to negro slavery as an institution, right up to and through the Civil War. Lincoln was barely persuaded by California to act.
Negroes, slave or free were essential genetically to West Indies labor.
