MORALITY

The separation of church and state, which emerged out of doctrines of toleration from conflicts in the Reformation left a vacuum judiciaries filled.

At this point America would be little worse off having  their morality dictated by Rome, bad as it has been, than by the Supreme Court which also governs mostly for itself.
