Carter ignited debate in September 2009 when he stated, "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he is African-American."] Obama disagreed with Carter's assessment. On CNN Obama stated, "Are there people out there who don't like me because of race? I'm sure there are ... that's not the overriding issue here.
Carter was a white negro engaging in white shaming and Western Civilization shaming, and he had made a correct, and obvious, assessment.
Both prior and subsequent events bear this out.
Carter was one of these white liberals who felt that white people (maybe even mainly Southern white people but not the Northern white racists who elected Lincoln) should feel remorseful, guilty, and burdened with the original sinful of slavery as a white nation, in the terms of later The 1619 Project language.
When Carter admitted "he had sinned many times in his heart", don't think about chicken shit lust or infedility, which is what the sophist meant.
Think about The 1619 Project and Carter remembering and reliving the white racist original sin of negro slavery, forever, in his mind!
