BLITT GROSS INTERVIEW FAUX EXCERPT

BLITT: He was - he was a guy down there, you know, an important American guy. I can't - really, I probably couldn't tell you what I was taught about John Diefenbaker. You know John Diefenbaker?

GROSS: Who's John Diefenbaker?

BLITT: (So retarded!) Oh, he was an important Canadian prime minister. For all I know, we were taught about George Washington in school. But, you know, I really don't remember much.

GROSS: So, is it wildly inappropriate and terribly wrong for the author of this book to have asked you, a Canadian, to illustrate a George Washington book?

BLITT: (Thinks to himself: That was a retarded question.) I ask myself that every day. But the truth is, I'm sort of getting pigeonholed. I mean, first of all, there is a lot of Canadian illustrators working in the States. So...

GROSS: Infiltrating the States.
