The modern state of Israel is certainly a very diverse non melting pot for Jews from everywhere. These poor devils came to Palestine to find that there had been Hebrews living there since the time of christ and Solomon. Most of these are middle eastern Jews of one stripe or another, Persian Jews is a classic. There are also ancient strains of Ashkenazi Jews in Palestine and Israel. These often do not play well together.
None of these "indigenous" Middle east Jews were happy to see Zionist Ashkenazims coming in in the las 125 or so years.
Now let's mention the Sephardies, many of whom now mostly populate Israel because the flow of Askenazi Zionists was throttled by the holocaust; and Sephardis from North Africa and the Middle East sought sanctuary in Israel, as well, for various reasons.
North Africa and Middle East Sephardis apparently are the majority in Israel, contrary to what most Americans think.
They are there because they were persecuted by frickin Muslims, not Germans or French, Hungarians or Romanians, or various East European Slavs and especially Russians, etc, who were all great persecutors of Ashkenazi Jews.
These Israeli Sephardis especially hate Muslims with a passion!
