White colonists actually claimed that George III had enslaved them..............The Dumber Hypocrisy Argument.



Re the Dumb Hypocrisy Argument:
If you read 1619, you conclude that white slavers went to Africa and went around Africa and caught free negroes and enslaved them.

That is the story they want told hard.

The reality is that white people did not normally enslave anyone in Africa in the first instance. 

They didn't even go into the interior of Africa much at all before the mid 19th Century.

Instead, they bought and bartered to acquire enslaved captive negroes, exclusively on the coast, from their captor negro owners. 

If they were slaves from the interior, as often they were, they were taken to the coastal ports to then be sold to slave traders.

The alternative, of course, was for them to be taken across to Muslim outposts, sold there in Africa to Muslim traders, for shipment to the Middle East, India, Eastern Europe, or North Africa. 

Or, they were sold from one adjacent negro chieftain to another, along a route to the coast. An enslaved negro might have been sold severeal times before being sold to a white slave trader on the coast.

Overwhelmingly, negroes enslaved and sold negroes. Not white traders. They bought them.

To the specious argument that it was white capitalism, I would say that it was negro capitalism, Muslim capitalism, and going way back, call it prehistoric capitalism.
