HOW A THINKER OR ACTOR ACTUALLY PROCEEDS TYPICALLY IS INCONSISTENT WITH AND USUALLY CONTRADICTS THEIR HELD THEORY, OR EVEN IDEOLOGY, OF HOW THEY ARE PROCEEDING

To me, in each case, they are blatantly obvious.
