Regarding Paragraph 1, I would just say that it is good, but not the best, to start late, with say 1944, rather than say 1958, in order to get a smell test impression of how things had gone to get there.
But when Woodrow Wilson had heralded the Bolshevik Revolution, brothers in arms, in 1917, in the midst of WWI, as finally a good ground for the US entering it, and then burbled The 14 Points, and Self Determination, in 1919, that set a kind of floor, so to speak.
But, let's not tarry! Let's move on to paragraph 2!
