MY SOLUTION IS THE MALTHUSIAN ONE
NOT THE UN ONE
The poorest 50% are already superfluous in the global economy, and a drag on the environment in ways other than carbon. About 2 billion are almost starving, unemployable, living on food aid subsidies in many cases, or subsistence agriculture.
Western medical food and other aid, unrepayable loans of enormous proportions, and coaching on ag methods, boosted poor populations long at or near starvation levels, to unsustainable levels.
SEE WIKIPEDIA HUMAN OVERPOPULATION
Wikipedia says stuff like this: "However, many believe that waste and over-consumption, especially by wealthy nations, is putting more strain on the environment than overpopulation itself."
They think poorer populations can just keep growing and the West should liberally support that, no big deal, and wealthy people, mostly in the white West, can wealth lose and wealth converge down to help the poor billions of color in The Rest.
If the top .1% should slash, which I can see (thousands of private jets, etc), then then next not the top 1%, why not then the top 5%, why not the top 10% (most of middle class people by Western living standards), mostly all in the white West.
A so called global middle class not in abject poverty is relatively a thin population, mostly in the white West, not in the Rest.
