I have come around to the view that critics of Bazata's story render it doubtful enough not to accept without more proof.
The other important point is that given Soviet penetration in American government and especially media institutions, killing Patton was actually unneccessary for the Soviets to render him harmless to the Soviets' goals or to those of any American political figures.
He had already been rendered harmless and removed from command by the Soviet tool Pearson, and by the post war plans of FDR which ran contrary to Patton's views and advice.
The rise of McCarthyism, 5 years later, which might have made Patton a public figure and an adversary or a threat to the likes of Ike, was far in the future at Patton's death.
My point is that he may well have been killed, and may even have been paralyzed by Bazata, but the Target Patton account is not persuasive, and other effective anti Patton measures were taken before his accident and death.
