THE MENU HAMBURGER CONDIMENT IMPROV HISTORY

Few now will recall the 60s McDonalds hamburger condiments: they were mustard, catsup, minced sauteed onion, and dill pickle slice. It tasted, together, rather like a sort of minimal amount of barbecue sauce on a round sliver of meatloaf in a toasted bun.

I suggest making something like that, but with variations. Not a barbecue sauce per se, and not the old McDonalds recipe either.

Take home made catsup; see prior recipe ideas (this recipe itself can get rather complicated). Add say Grey Poupon, right out of the jar, in equal measure. Add home made mayonnaise (see prior recipes) in equal measure.

So, you have roughly equal amounts of catsup, mustard, and mayonnaise. Add sliced sweet onion, and dill pickle on the side.

One can add a tomato slice, but so few tomatoes are really good anymore, why bother?

I always preferred to skip lettuce.
