The analogy to conservative economists free market theory versus government intervention should be mentioned.
They have long held that governments, with social science experts on tap, cannot pick winners as effectively as the entrepreneurial nimble maverick executive free market mechanism private sector.
But wait, many of the pollsters are private sector firms and experts.
They are many of the same ones used by private firms to be or become winners.
