We and Europe should have thought about that in 1919, when we might have actually gone in and partitioned them.
Or 1945, when Patton, and Monty apparently, were ordered not to push the Soviets back out.
Most Americans thought FDR and Eisenhower were great.
Most Americans still do.
They did blame Wilson for WWI, but for getting us in, etc.
No American thinks to blame him for not helping much to get the Bolsheviki out.
Wilson, especially at first, loved the Bolshiviki. The Russian Revolution 1917 was actually a big reason for us entering WWI.
Later, FDR still mostly thought they were fine there. He hated the Germans.
